Available transport modes
- Ocean FCL (Full Container Load): For volumes over 15–20 CBM. Sealed container from origin. Transit: 30–40 days.
- Ocean LCL (consolidated): For volumes under 15 CBM. Share container, pay only for your space. Transit: 35–45 days.
- Air: For urgent, high-value or time-critical cargo. Transit: 5–10 days from the main Chinese airports.
Step-by-step process
- 1. Identify the supplier: Whether on Alibaba, 1688, fairs like the Canton Fair, or by referral. Our team guides you on what to verify before buying.
- 2. Negotiate the Incoterm: We recommend FOB (Free On Board) — the supplier delivers at the Chinese port and you control freight from there. Avoid DDP if it's your first big import.
- 3. We coordinate freight: Booking with the ocean line, pickup at the supplier's warehouse, container stuffing or CFS delivery for LCL.
- 4. Chinese export documentation: Commercial invoice, packing list, Chinese certificate of origin (Form E from the ASEAN-CR FTA if applicable).
- 5. Transit tracking: Tracking from Shanghai/Shenzhen/Ningbo to the ports of Caldera or Limón.
- 6. Customs clearance in Costa Rica: We coordinate with a licensed customs broker. We verify documents, calculate duties (National Tariff, VAT, fees) and handle release.
- 7. Delivery to your warehouse: Inland transport to your address in Costa Rica.
